Today we said goodbye to Simon as he enters his final week in the Search and Rescue course. This week he is going to Lake McKenzie out the back of Mole Creek for their final training and tests.They are spending three night out in the open and start training exercises at 4am each morning and go right through until 10pm at night. I think this week is all about stamina. I think we are in for a very quiet grand final weekend while Simon recovers.
The kids helped Simon get ready with Hallie trying to figure out all Simon's ropes and harnesses, pretending she was off to rescue someone stuck down a cliff and Oliver making sure the sleeping bag was warm enough for the extremely cold nights.
