November long weekend

On the November 5 long weekend we went to my Dad's house at Yorktown near Beaconsfield for a family barbecue. Dad has one sister, Aunty Maureen and because she lives at Beauty Point I have seen her regularly over the past few years at Christmas time. But my cousins Nessie, George and Ann I had not seen for at least 15 years. Ann used to live in Sydney but has since moved back to good ole Tas with her children Brittany and Cody. I caught up with her at Lisa's house a few months ago and then Dad suggested that we have a family barby and make a tradition of it.

Dad's great outdoor summer house was the perfect spot to catch up. I knew poor old Dad would not be able to get out of taking all the kids for a ride on the back of his ATV so he already had the trailer attached to it when we pulled up.

Halfway through the morning Dad had a customer down at his landscaping yard so he drove all the kids down on the ATV and they played on the gravel and sand piles while they waited for Dad. I don't know what the customer thought. Dad looked like the Pied Piper.

Dad's backyard - simply glorious

Between us all there was 14 kids and they ranged in age from 16 to 2 but they all got on so well. It certainly did not seem like they had all only just met. Sarra had her foot caught on the trailer and Johnny straight away went to help her. Hallie loved Cody. She was wrestling him and having a ball - I'm sure she wishes she had an older brother. She is always hanging out with Jayme and this day she got to play with him and Cody.

We had a wonderful relaxing day catching up. It was the best idea and we are all looking forward to more of it on Australia Day. There's something about family - no matter how the years roll by, it does not take long for that bond to reestablish itself.

At this time it looks like Wordpress is the top blogging platform available
right now. (from what I've read) Is that what you are using on your blog?

Great blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere?
A theme like yours with a few simple tweeks would
really make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your design.

With thanks

Hello! I was curious to know if setting up a blog such your
own: http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=7762721386385448624&postID=9004763762403465781 is hard to do for unskilled
people? I've been wanting to create my own blog for a while now but have been turned off because I've always assumed
it demanded tons of work. What do you think? Bless you
