Next weekend Jonty will be 5mths old and for the past week he has been waking again during the night. Simon suggested he may be getting hungry and of course he can't live on milk forever.
Great, now it will be bibs and crusty faces to be wiped and changes in poo (oops too much info). My greatest worry, however, is how an earth am I going to fit the high chair in our house. Already at only 13 squares, 3 bedrooms and 4 kids, we are really busting at the seams.
I was surprised that the time for just breast milk was close to an end and that soon we would be entering the next phase of introducing food. It is so easy to just give them milk and know that that is satisfying and helping them thrive and grow.

he he! Go Jonty. My girls never had rice cereal. I did fruit and veges and oats (porridge). They love porridge! Maybe Simon can cut a little corner off his table to fit Jonty's chair in!!!!!!! I love that table!
We have a portable high chair that clips onto the table, that you can borrow.
Love Lorraine.

When I was breast feeding I was glad when they went on solids as it meant less feeds (hopefully) which meant more time for me, but when I bottle fed I also dreaded it as it meant you had to make stuff up for them all the time! Can't believe he is growing up so fast.
That high chair is good Mum as you can squeeze it in well, but it probably wouldn't support tiny babies very well as it doesn't have a high back. It's more for older kids I would think.
Jonty is so cute-and so much hair. Gabe has lost most of his newborn hair, but has some undergrowth coming in.
My kids all hated it, i went straight to fruit...Can't believe how time has flown.
breastfeeding is so convenient and handy so i'm not looking forward to having to 'prepare' food!... eli was pretty fussy (still is) but loved home made stewed apple and pear. hope jonty likes to eat most things (even if he's not a fan of rice cereal)- goodluck.
could you please save me the left-over rice cereal because i love it for a breakfast treat for MYSELF! yummo!!!!
Give the boy meat
eeew and it looks so yummy can't see what the problem is!
wow, can't believe he is old enough to be having solids! Didn't you only just have him???
He is so cute, i love his hair!!!
My kids all liked rice cereal, but much preferred stewed fruit and vegetables...
I can't believe Jonty is 5mths old already! By the time we come and visit at Christmas he will be 1!
he is a real boy now even at 5 months...what is that saying about "real men eat Quiche"....
I am with all the majority Simone ...go for stewed apple and mashed fresh vegies...he will thrive on that...sad to give up the breat feeding ...but hey he may be a typical man and want both for a good while to come
