Malaysia - twin towers.

With the tension heating up in Korea at the moment, it reminded me so much of our holiday there just 6 months ago and how lucky we were to go while the relationship between North and South was relatively smooth.

It also motivated me to finish my holiday posts.

Day 14 - Wednesday Sept 26.

Today we decided to visit Suria KLCC  a big shopping centre in downtown KL. We had read that the Petrosains science discovery centre was pretty good for kids and we had been making them walk  around everywhere so we thought they deserved a kid day.

It was very interactive and the kids had a ball trying out everything. It was a little like what is at Inveresk for the kids here in Launceston but on a much MUCH bigger scale.

The kids even hopped inside a rollercoaster simulator. And there was a wind simulator, which you stood inside and it blew air on you all the way up to the ferocity of mimicking a mini hurricane. It was awesome and I learned that it would be mighty hard to take pics during a hurricane!

This was inside Suria shopping centre, so many floors of shopping.

We went straight from Petrosains to the Aquarium. The kids enjoyed it but I didn't think it was that much different or better than the Melbourne Aquarium.

I have never seen a spider this big. Talk about nightmares!!

A friend from home - a nice big croc.

Simon would love a fish tank like this.

I'm hoping the closest any of us will ever get to a shark.

After the aquarium, we had booked in to go up the top of the Twin Towers. Last time we were here, just on a nine hour layover from Thailand in 2007, we tried to go up the towers but there were no tickets left, so it was nice to finally get the opportunity.

Our host was a hologram.

The first stop is on the 42nd floor with a skybridge that joins the two towers. It was really scary because  the bridge swayed slightly in the wind, which kept freaking me out. The tour guide said to expect the movement, something they allowed for to help the integrity of the structure.

Standing in the middle of the skybridge looking over KL.
Amazing.views.

Pity about the smog.

From there we made our way up to the 88th floor. The Petronas Twin Towers used to be the tallest twin towers in the world until 2004.

It was amazing to see that we were SO much taller than the big high rises around us. We really felt like we were on top of the world.

The top of the adjoining tower

The twin towers in all their glory.

And I couldn't finish a post without showing Flynn with his fans, lapping up all the attention. I thought changing countries would make a difference but nah, still as popular as ever.

There is no way you'd get me up there on that moving sky bridge! I love the photo of Flynn reaching his little hand out to touch the fish through the glass- how cute!
