Malaysia - Sunway Lagoon

Day 16 - Friday Sept 28.

Today we went to the Sunway Lagoon theme park. It was more like a glorified playground because disappointingly many things were closed for renovation. We still had heaps of fun though and spent the whole day there. The weather had been glorious and so far no rain.

The only really scary ride, Simon and I went on was the Pirate Boat that slowly went higher and higher until we were hanging upside down and then went 360 degrees. It was scary but not as bad as I thought it would be. I could not stop laughing because I was so nervous but I was so glad I went on. We went on a few other rides with the kids that were fast but not scary. There weren't alot of people there so some of the rides we could just go on again and again.

The park also had a wildlife section but that was quite sad as there weren't many animals and the living standards for the animals weren't in my opinion up to scratch. At home we would have had a number of people protesting and calling for the place to be overhauled but over here, it seemed like the norm.

Ollie and Sarra and Mum and I all had a foot treatment by the fish. It was so fun and ticklish and gross all at the same time as you could see the fish absolutely loved nibbling on our dead skin off the bottom of our feet.

The kids loved the surf beach the best which had a wave pool and sand and heaps of fun water playgrounds.

Luckily I was always so obliging taking photos for the fans. They would give me their camera or phone and I would take a photo and then they would check to make sure I took a good one and once they approved we were allowed to move on.

This photo cracks me up. I am studying the map of the theme park making sure we hadn't missed anything and Flynn is entertaining the ladies behind me and I can't stop laughing also at all the bags around my feet.

Everytime we got out of the water, the kids would get so hot and so we would go on some fun rides to cool off again.

We got back to our apartment quite late and it was so pretty to see the gardens all lit up as we walked through the park. To let you know how cheap transportation is here, our feeder bus from the train to Sunway Lagoon was only 30c. It was a pretty dodgy bus with holes in the floor and us all packed on with people leaning out the door because it was too full to close but by now we were used to their road safety rules, or lack thereof and laughed at the way the locals thought it was normal to be so unsafe.
