Flowers for Fathers

A beautiful Father's Day to all the Dads, father-in-laws and grandfathers, brothers and sons here on earth and in heaven. You are cherished. You are loved. You are missed.

On Sunday we went to visit my Dad for Father's Day. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. We took some sandwiches and once we got to Dad's the kids went straight outside. The love running around in the paddocks and especially at this time of year with all the daffodils out. I love that there is no iPods or computer playing but just good wholesome outdoor fun, just like in the old days.

The sky could not have been a more brilliant blue.

Even thought the daffodils are wild, they still are lovely to bring home.

It wasn't long before the kids noticed Dad had a boat and that he had made some oars and the eyes that they go into on the boat, so the kids tested them out for him and I wasn't surprised that they worked beautifully because my Dad is a bit clever like that.

It was good to see the kids all working together. Even when Flynn slipped in at the edge of the dam, and got completely muddy and wet, it didn't dampen anyone's enthusiasm.

Like I said, my Dad is a bit clever. Since retirement he has been making these waterwheels that you can put in your pond and attach a hose to, to make it turn or it can just be a feature sitting in the garden. The Glebe Gardens in Launceston sells them and soon they will be available on Gumtree too.
