A blink of summer at Bridport

So as most Taswegians can attest to, we didn't have a summer AT ALL. There was no long drawn out days of hot weather and loud crickets in the grass around sunset. Instead we would have a hot day of say, 27 and then the next day, dip down to 21 degrees.

No matter how many of us whinged and complained and made bad jokes about where our summer was, it refused to warm up. Needless to say, we still decided to make our annual trek to Bridport to take over Collette's house, kick her renter out (aka Mum) and enjoy a few days off from the world.

Without meaning to or any formal planning, we have started a tradition of going away with the Websters, Coronas and Walkers once a year. Our families fit well together, noone fights, not even the adults ;) and noone annoys each other like you would think, 4 adults and 12 kids might. I'm being honest here, it is amazing how well the kids play together and its not even as loud as you think 12 kids might be.

Last year we had our Easter camp and this year, we thought Bridport would be a little warmer and luxurious over unpowered tent sites.!!! We went for 3 days, Tuesday to Friday and the first day at 5pm, it was still 31 degrees - FINALLY summer was here, the next day it rained!!

The men had to stay behind to work their jobs so it was just Liz, me, Jack and Mel. You can imagine the topics of conversation an all-women group had!!

The kids made their own fun and at the end of each day would sleep like logs.

We all had a great time and it was sad saying goodbye to everyone on Friday.

But then Simon came and we spent a nice few days with the kids hanging out at the beach and even though the weather wasn't warm, we did some fun exploring around the rocks.

To answer your question
