Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving at Mel's again this year on Saturday. I so love that her hubby Den is American!! I did tell her that even if we just had toasted sandwiches and water, it would still be THE BEST Thanksgiving ever.

I realised that we only took photos of the desserts - oops, but there were 17 sweet pies for dessert so it was pretty amazing to see. I managed to fit in 6 pieces of pie this year!! The mains was amazing too - turkey, chicken, stuffing, mashed spud, sweet potato with marshmellows, stuffed mushrooms, beans, more stuffing, salads and gravy.

But the best part of all was the company.

Good friends. Good food. Easy to think about what we are grateful for at this time of year.

This one is funny of Toni standing up on the chair for a good shot of the pies!!
Dean and Jared were given a $100 challenge to try and eat a piece of every pie (17). They were given a time limit but didn't quite manage. I love the looks on their faces as they tried to get through it.

My annual job is the drinks, a bit of homemade punch and apple isle with cans for the kiddos and we are all set. I really am starting to like Thanksgiving - I wonder why!! :) Check out the photos of the desserts that Jackie took. See why we love Thanksgiving??

Wow - I enjoyed our Thanksgiving, but it looks like I need to move back to Tassie to have it even better! I see that half our family (well almost!) is in the picture. Wish we could have been there to join you. I love Thanksgiving, if we ever move back to Australia it is one tradition I will be keeping!!
