It may have broken our hearts but it will not break our will

It may have broken our hearts but it will not break our will - these words were spoken by Qld Premier Anna Bligh as the floods unfolded across Queensland. Rain is like life. You think it may be pouring in your own backyard............

but its worse, much worse in someone else's.

(This photo care of Toni's blog)
The following images are various ones I found by googling Qld flood photos

I love the way Australians are banding together, showing that grim determination, that Aussie spirit of helping each other despite their own houses being inundated by water.

Shops are sandbagged in Brisbane's Eagle Street in the CBD.

And from here in Tassie, my husband's cousin Toni is doing her bit to help out. And we can too by clicking on the button on the top right of my blog (you can add this button to your blog too and get the word out, just like this other blog) and participating in one of the auctions she is organising with all the money going to help the flood victims. I can't wait to start bidding.

Lets dust off our emergency 72 hr packs and review our own preparedness.
